Letter from September 14, 2015
Another rough week. Our only investigator sat us down and gave us about a 10 minute thank you, but told us this just wasn't what she wanted or needed in her life right now. She gave us a chocolate pastry and tried to return all the folletos we gave her. As she walked us out, she told us that if there was anything we needed, we could call her. #BESTBREAKUPEVER. But really, zero investigators.
In our search for new ones as we contacted in the street all week, we had the local drunk sing Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" to us, we had a woman stiff-arm us (we think she must play American football), and we had a man legitimately stick his dog on us when we knocked his door. NEVERTHELESS, WE WENT FORTH! (1 Nephi 4:7)
No worries, we're safe and sound. However, still not having a ton of success in this little corner of the Lord's vineyard. Like last week though, the Lord answered our prayers (He always does). Within the last 45 minutes of our Sunday, we were knocking doors and stumbled upon one little miracle. Her name is Jackie. In our powerful but brief 30 minutes together, she accepted the baptismal date of the 10th of August. Unfortunately, she travels and works a LOT and on weekends, but it's a start. It's a reason to keep going. The Lord needs us here right now. The Lord loves me and is grateful for my service. That, I am sure of! We're just praying Jackie isn't secretly one of the three Nephites like we're pretty sure our less active from last week is.... #NEVERFOUNDAGAIN!
Love you all,
