Another wonderful week here in the CCM! The Spirit, the teachers, the fellow missionaries are amazing here. I'm going be pretty sad to leave actually, but on to better things! Just kidding I still have four weeks here, that should not be on my mind. Good news, there are new missionaries so as of today so we arent the newbs anymore!! SO I forgot to mention last week that Pdays are the best because we get to go to el templo!! We went again today in spanish and it was incredible. I'm going miss the spirit of the temple once I'm out in the field. The rest of Pdays consist of shopping (grocery store, temple store, little shops etc), writing home, laundry, and if youre lucky you get a little catnap! But Pdays in the CCM end at 3:45 instead of 6PM so its a challenge to cram everything in. Esta bien!
This week we started teaching lessons! Our fake investigators are great. Our first lesson was pretty rough because SPANISH but it's always exciting. Our little reviews have just told us that they don't always understand what were trying to say but that we have a special spirit about us when we talk about the Savior. WE BROUGHT THE SPIRIT WITH OUR NONSENSE WOOO.
Have I mentioned that our distrcit is the BEST?? Our district meetings are the best testimoney meetings / gospel dicussions EVER. In an appropriate professional misionary way, I just love everyone in our district!! Sweet spirits. Were all good friends but also work hard and push each other.
On Saturday we were assigned latina companeras for the day and we went out in Lima proseletyzing for 4 hours!! My comp was this adorable sassy columbiana. LOVED HER. Also we had a member lady with us. Neither of them spoke ONE WORD of english. First we went to visit some less active families then just contaced. We ended up with 10 contacts/referals and taught 2 lessons! Frankly, I didn't speak much but it was still amazing. I couldnt help but feel this overwhelming love for all of these people that I couldn't even understand! Its almost like you see the world differently with this nametag on. We are all God's children and He wants us ALL to come home. We as representatives and followers of Jesus Christ have the sacred duty to bring others unto Him! Its amazing the confidence, protection, and power that comes from my little black nametag. Walking around some kinds sketchy streets in Lima getting a whistle or two didn't even phase me. I have the Savior's name on my tag and angels round about me. Being a missionary is the BEST. (D&C 84)
We watched a broadcast devotional on sunday from President Utchdorf that was BOMB. The overall message was FEAR NO MAN! He compared each of us to Peter as a disciple of Christ. He had his moment of fear but he overcame it and became one of the greatest missionaries in history. One of my favorite quotes from him was "overbearance is boldness without love, when people can feel your love, you can never be too bold!" Also he said that "if you want to punch Satan in the face, preach the Gospel!" (So litttle Grant my advice is to serve a mission) :) That is now our district motto.
I know why I'm here. I know the hard times will come but so will the greatest times ever! So far its been practically perfect. Feeling the spirit every day all day tends to put you in a good mood I guess :) Miss and love you all but there is work to be done! His work is hastening. A sickle is not enough anymore, He needs tractors! (D&C 4) I love my Savior. I love the people of Peru. I love the pure, perfect, beautiful messages of the Gospel f Jesus Christ. Keep doing all you can to preach the word back home! LOTS OF LOVE
